About Jessica

 

  Jessica is an award-winning anchor and reporter. She was part of the top-rated station and show in Cleveland, Ohio, WJW Fox 8 News. Before Cleveland, she was a morning and noon anchor in Augusta, Georgia and Lima, Ohio.

 

While working at Fox 8, Jessica covered big political stories including the first Presidential Debate among the 12 Republican Candidates in 2015 and Donald Trump's 2016 Republican National Convention where she interviewed Eric Trump, Paul Manafort and Gov. Mike Huckabee. In sports news she covered the Cleveland Indians 2016 World Series trip and three NBA finals, including an all night commercial-free show after the Cavs 2016 championship win, followed by a parade.

Jessica has covered some of the saddest stories, including being the first journalist to interview the family of Robert Godwin, Sr., the man brutally murdered on Facebook Live on Easter Sunday. But she has also covered many fun events including two movie premieres- the James Brown movie, "Get on Up" and Lebron James' movie, "Trainwreck". She has interviewed many stars, including Lebron James, Amy Schumer, Bill Hader, Judd Apatow, Mike Love, Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line and Zac Brown.

Before coming to Cleveland, Jessica was a morning and noon anchor in Lima, Ohio and Augusta, Georgia where she won an Associated Press Best Anchor Award. As a passionate storyteller, she has also won an Edward R. Murrow for her story "Criminals in the Classroom" and took home a first place Associated Press award for her series piece, "Breaking Barriers Behind Bars" and a Best General Reporting Georgia APME award.

Jessica got her start in school as a backpack journalist in Chicago covering stories including President Obama’s Election Day, Governor Blagojevich’s impeachment, and escalating turmoil in the South Side gangs. During her time at Northwestern University she worked in Washington D.C. as a Capitol Hill correspondent for stations across the country.
